Digest of Political and Legislative Initiatives. May 2026

May proved to be a month of major European reforms and winter preparedness. The key government decisions were aimed at attracting financial assistance from the EU, updating the Customs Code, and simplifying public procurement in accordance with European standards.

Special attention was given to the energy sector: Ukraine is establishing a generation reserve in case of blackouts, while the lease of state property has been simplified for defense industry enterprises. Travel restrictions abroad for female public officials have also been lifted, and new support programs for veterans have been launched.
